Course Goal

Participants will learn how to create architectural and interior models in SketchUp, render them realistically with V-Ray, and prepare them for professional presentations. They will acquire hands-on skills in 3D modeling, material and lighting design, as well as rendering techniques. The course focuses on developing visually appealing and practical visualizations for architecture, interior design, and creative projects.

- Teachers and trainers who want to integrate architectural visualization into their teaching or training

- Interested learners with basic knowledge of architecture or design who want to create practical visualizations

Course Content

Overview & Basics:

- Introduction to SketchUp: interface, navigation, and tools

- Creating basic floor plans and 3D models (walls, windows, doors, furniture)

- Organizing projects with groups and components

- Modeling & Scene Setup:

- Developing more complex interior and exterior spaces

- Importing and using 3D libraries

- Working with layers, tags, and scenes for structured projects

Materials & Textures:

- Applying and editing materials

- Scaling and adjusting textures

- Using the V-Ray material library

Lighting & Rendering with V-Ray:

- Introduction to V-Ray: interface and render settings

- Working with natural light sources (sun, sky)

- Adding artificial lights (spotlights, area lights)

- Test renders and optimization

Final Rendering & Presentation:

- Setting cameras and framing the scene

- High-quality rendering with V-Ray (interior and exterior perspectives)

- Exporting results (images, PDFs, presentations)

- Final project: creating a realistic architectural visualization
